1. Executive Summary

This report analyzes the current and projected grant funding for Project Opal. It outlines the funding received for product development and service operation maintenance, providing a basis for estimating future budget requirements.

2. Introduction

The purpose of this report is to evaluate the grant funding situation of Project Opal. Understanding this funding is crucial for the project’s sustainability and growth as we navigate future development phases.

Project Opal is a community-driven web3 game. Currently, the community is looking for a working MVP for initial testing and exploration. Based on their experiences, we will introduce more features into the game. Therefore, there are no fixed future requirements until the community tests the MVP and provides feedback. Our short-term requirements are clear, and the funding we are estimating is primarily for these short-term goals.

3. Current Progress, Future Roadmap, and Potential Roadblocks

  1. Current Progress with Respect to MVP for Community

    1. UI/UX: Completed
    2. Frontend: Completed
    3. Subgraph & Integration: WIP
    4. Smart Contract Development: Completed
    5. Smart Contract Testing & Review: WIP
    6. Model Designing: Completed
  2. Potential Roadblocks

    1. Dependencies on Thanos Mainnet Launch and Project DRB Final Deployment:
      • If both projects launch three weeks before the end of Q4, we can easily launch the MVP on Thanos Mainnet.
      • If not, we will launch on Titan Sepolia.
    2. Community Feedback:
      • If the community is not satisfied with our current proposed system for the MVP, we need to revise our model design according to their needs, which will also affect smart contracts and our integration.
  3. Roadmap

    1. Publish articles on the Economic Proposed System of Project Opal.
    2. Gather feedback from the community regarding this Economic Proposed System.
    3. Set up a community call to finalize the economic model.
    4. Revise the economic system or any game mechanics if the community requests it.
    5. Complete testing of smart contracts.
    6. Launch the MVP on Titan Testnet:
    7. Prepare our contract and frontend for Thanos Sepolia
    8. Deploy our contract on Thanos Sepolia
    9. Testing and Code Review

4. Product Development Funding

Current Projects in Progress

5. Service (Product) Operation Maintenance Funding

6. Future Grants Estimation

Future grant requests will align with these timelines and anticipated project needs. This is just the future estimation of the MVP; however, for the actual final deployment of the game, we will need initial funding of 100k TON on Layer 1 (for example, 100k TON which can be staked and bridged to Layer 2 to mint gems). These gems will be sold on the primary market, useful for airdrops and mining. Once we recover the 100k investment by selling these gems on the primary market, we can make a profit and reinvest after covering our expenses.
